CAFÉ QUINDÍO is located in the city of Armenia, the capital of the department Quindio, Colombia, traditionally a coffee producing zone. It is localized between 1 degree to 11 degrees and 15 degrees latitude north, 72 degrees to 78 degrees latitude east, and at altitudes from 400 to 2500 meters above sea-level. Temperatures are within an optimal rank between 18 degrees and 22 degrees centigrades.

Quindio is located in the central chain mountains (“Cordillera Central”),west hill, where the soils of igneous origin, sedimented and made by volcanic ashes are found. That implies that this soil has a high amount of organic material and good physical conditions.

Moreover, the rain in the Colombian coffee-zone is influenced by the topographic conditions and by the movement of the winds between the valleys and the mountains. The tendency is to have two dry seasons and two rainy seasons during a year; between the dry periods the flowering of coffee trees are favored, and between those two periods in which the beans get ripen and harvested humid periods interspersed. These climatic and soil characteristics make our coffee soft, of cleaned cup, with acidity medium/high and pronounced aroma (bouquet), typical of the coffee that comes only from the ARÁBIGA type.
